Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy - Ridgway, CO
Aging can be a scary prospect. In addition to the general stress and pains of growing old, we go through a number of physical and mental changes. For women, menopause is a major concern while men deal with andropause and low testosterone.
Many age-related issues are the result of hormonal imbalance. Your body has a complex collection of glands called the endocrine system. Each of these glands generates crucial hormones, such as testosterone, estrogen and progesterone. Excessive or reduced levels of these hormones can wreak havoc on your system.
Bio-identical hormone replacement, or BHRT, is the only safe, natural solution to hormonal imbalance.
What is Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy?
BHRT is a way to fight aging and balance your hormones. It does this with the use of chemically and biologically identical hormones. This makes BHRT a better choice than conventional hormone replacement therapy, which uses synthetic hormones.
The natural hormones used in BHRT can be administered with a number of delivery methods. They include:
Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy generally falls in to two categories: BHRT for Women and BHRT for Men.
Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women
Many women seek bio-identical hormone replacement as a way to combat menopause. After women hit a certain age, their body goes through this drastic change. Menopause can also be caused at any age by a woman who has received a hysterectomy.
Some of the more alarming signs and symptoms of female hormonal imbalance include:
Bone density loss
These menopausal symptoms stem from decreased levels of estrogen and progesterone. These hormones can be restored with BHRT. Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is a natural and effective way to address women’s health.
Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men
Just as women suffer from menopause, men deal with andropause. Andropause is often synonymous with low testosterone. As a man ages, his testosterone levels drastically decrease and lead to the condition also known as Low-T.
Low testosterone symptoms include:
Low sex drive
Andropause and low testosterone can be treated with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. BHRT uses natural testosterone to restore vigor and make men feel young again.
Other Uses of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy
In addition to the issues that trouble each gender, men and women can benefit from using BHRT to treat the thyroid disorders known as hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Other hormones that can be administered with this treatment include:
Cortisol, which regulates energy and stress.
TSH, which controls thyroid function.
DHEA, which is converted by your body to other hormones.
Melatonin, which regulates your sleep.
Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy Results
Regardless of the delivery method, men and women who are treated with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy see noticeable results.
Those treated with BHRT can see:
Increased sex drive
Most of all, BHRT makes patients feel normal again. Aging can be scary, yes, but bio-identical hormone replacement is the best tool available to fight back.

I have been in family practice for 40 years and have loved it. I became board certified in family practice in 2006 and began looking into healthy aging in 2008. My first “discoveries” were about adrenal dysfunction, low thyroid that is commonly missed by traditional Western medicine, and toxic metals. Then about four years ago I found out about bio-identical hormones and was astounded at how they helped me, my wife and about 300 patients. Up until three months ago, I had only heard about topical creams, and some oral meds.
Then I was exposed to pelleting through BioTE by Gunther Mueller! Thank you! I thought the topical was astounding, but I see that pellets have more science behind them and that they certainly work better. I am more and more excited about the practice of medicine and my mission/goal is to help aging people find help that will keep them active, strong, healthy and productive rather than being “put out to pasture” like so many elderly are in many countries. When I see patients whose hormones are very low (many women have such low estrogen, progesterone and testosterone that the lab results show “too low to be measured”) and realize that they will likely live another 40 or 50 years with total deprivation of the hormones that kept them young, healthy, active, strong and happy, it really breaks my heart that modern medicine, for the most part, says “be warmed and be filled and go your way” and does absolutely nothing. How can this be compassion when bio-identical hormones are so easily available?
I saw a middle aged lady a few weeks ago for whom I had prescribed BHRT a year ago. She told me that she went straight to her doctor and showed the prescription to him. He said, “Oh, no! You can’t take estrogen. You will get addicted to it!” So, she “obeyed” him and didn’t fill the prescription. She returned feeling worse than last year and is more open to help. I explained it all again but more about pellets, and she is scheduled for pellets soon! So now I can say as I insert the pellets, “Be warm and be filled,” and really mean it and really do something worthwhile for people!
